View short films by amateur film makers who are the finalists in our short film competition. The films are between 3 and 5 minutes long and have a general theme of 'connected'. Entrants have been allowed to interpret the theme in any way they choose and films can be in documentary, animation, live action, comedy, drama or any other genre. All films are entirely original and have a PG certification.
The Village Film Festival has convened a panel of respected judges including Richard Johns, Producer of Shadow of the Vampire and The Liability, and Nigel Floyd, the film critic, to select the shortlist of films to be considered for the final prizes. The judges will assess each entry against the following three criteria: (a) An excellent creative idea (b) Excellent craft and technical execution (c) On Brief. Prizes will be awarded on Sunday 30th September before the screening of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and will be presented by Judges Richard Johns and Nigel Floyd.
There are two entry classes: Film makers under the age of 21 and Film makers over the age of 21. In each class there will be a first prize of £100 and a runner up prize of £50. A further prize will be awarded as an Audience Award voted as Best Overall Film by the general public attending The Village Film Festival.
Refreshments will be available.
